Vyshkovo
These photos were taken in Vyshkovo during our visit with Ludmila and a group of local women who prepare home-cooked meals for Ukrainian defenders.
Ludmila lost her husband just two months after the full-scale invasion began. He became the second casualty from her village. In his memory, she devoted herself to supporting the defenders by organizing and delivering freshly prepared meals.
During our visit, we were honored to support Ludmila’s efforts with a donation and to spend the day with her and her friends, learning about their work and dedication.
As a deeply personal gesture, Ludmila presented us with a small handcrafted miniatures of Joseph and Kenneth.
It was created by a local artist based on a photograph taken nearly two years ago.
